Volunteering to monitor marine biodiversity in the Natura 2000 Network in Andalusia.
Volunteering to monitor marine biodiversity in the Natura 2000 Network in Andalusia.

The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge is promoting, in collaboration with the Regional Government of Andalusia, the development of a series of volunteer actions to monitor certain marine species of special interest in habitats of community interest in the Natura 2000 marine network in Andalusia, within the framework of LIFE INTEMARES.

The aim is to contribute to the compilation of updated data that will allow the Natura 2000 marine network to be managed efficiently and appropriately, based on the most up-to-date information, in this case, from the public collaboration. In this way, it also aims to involve society in the tracking and monitoring of marine species and habitats and to involve different agents and the general public in improving the management of marine protected areas.

30 sampling stations selected along the Andalusian coastline.

The registration period for volunteers is now open. Workshops are scheduled to start in March 2024.
