LIFE MARMONI
Innovative approaches for marine biodiversity monitoring and assessment of conservation status of nature values in the Baltic Sea
Latvia. 2010-2015. Baltic Environmental Forum
The project has developed a methodology to assess the conservation status of marine biodiversity and the impact of human activities in the Baltic Sea territorial waters and the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Estonia, Latvia, Finland, and Sweden.
The results of this assessment are presented in the report “Socioeconomic assessment of marine biodiversity monitoring based on indicators, programmes and methods”.
Furthermore, the project has assessed the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of indicator-based monitoring programmes and methods, which have been implemented in compliance with the Good Environmental Status (GES) requirements of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD).
